A Shōwa-era Japanese tear-off calendar (日めくり), one page a day, entirely in Japanese and in crisp black and white.
Each page shows the day in a big serif numeral, the lunar date (旧暦), rokuyō (六曜), nine stars (九星), the day's zodiac pair (干支), lunar mansion (二十八宿), lucky and unlucky days (選日), the moon and tide name, the solar term and its micro-season (二十四節気・七十二候), festivals and observances, a countdown to the next holiday, a month calendar, and a proverb (ことわざ) written vertically. Sundays and holidays print in reverse, Saturdays in outline.
Optional: large print, Japanese era or Western year, and a shop band at the foot, like the gift calendars local shops handed out (「毎度ありがとうございます さくら商店」).
The calendar is computed from JPL ephemerides and checked against published almanacs; proverbs are traditional, observances are facts. Works on every TRMNL screen, landscape or portrait.
