Rolling Month Calendar (Home Assistant)
Your next weeks at a glance
1
Connection
The calendars of your Home Assistant in one rolling month grid:
• any number of Home Assistant calendar entities (Local Calendar, Google, CalDAV, iCloud, ...) in one grid
• a color and a prefix per calendar
• half and quadrant views for mashups
• busy weeks never cut off: fewer weeks, or "+N more"
• finished events faded
• the weather forecast of a Home Assistant weather entity next to the day numbers (optional)
Needs: Home Assistant reachable from the internet (Home Assistant Cloud or your own domain) and a long-lived access token, preferably of a Home Assistant user made for this that isn't an administrator.
Available settings
Home Assistant URL
The address of your Home Assistant on the internet, as TRMNL's servers reach it, without a trailing slash. With Home Assistant Cloud that is the remote URL (Settings → Home Assistant Cloud → Remote control); otherwise your own remote access address. A local address (homeassistant.local, 192.168.…) doesn't work here.
Example: https://abcdefgh.ui.nabu.casa
Home Assistant access token
A long-lived access token (your Home Assistant profile → Security → Long-lived access tokens). It can do anything its user can, so preferably make a separate Home Assistant user for TRMNL that isn't an administrator, and create the token there.
Home Assistant calendar entities
One or more Home Assistant calendar entity IDs (Settings → Devices & services → Entities, search for calendar.).
Example: calendar.family
Calendar prefixes
Optional text shown before each event title, one per calendar in the same order as the calendar entities above (e.g. W:, Kids). Use - for a calendar without one.
Calendar colors
Optional event background, one per calendar in the same order as the calendar entities above. A TRMNL color name (black, gray-10 … gray-75, red, blue-40, …) or a hex color. Names become solid greys on the TRMNL X and dither patterns on 1-bit screens. Use - for a calendar without one.
Show all 23 options
Home Assistant weather entity
Optional. A weather entity (e.g. weather.forecast_home) whose daily forecast is shown next to each day number, from today on. Home Assistant's Open-Meteo integration gives the whole day's high; Met.no's gives today's from the hours still ahead.
Example: weather.forecast_home
Weather temperatures
With a weather forecast, show each day's high, or its high and low. The low is left out where the day's line has no room for it.
