Aurora turns real space weather data into a straight answer: is the aurora actually visible tonight from wherever you live? It reads live geomagnetic activity from NOAA's space weather service and checks it against your own location and the darkness there right now, then tells you plainly whether conditions are good, and for how long. Beyond right now, it also gives a three night outlook, so you know whether it is worth staying up tonight or better to wait for a stronger night. Every screen shows a verdict, a viewing window when there is one, and which direction to face. See the forecast as an abstract halftone chart of aurora activity around the pole, or as a real oriented map centered on your own sky.
