Connections
We've all heard it: "How many days 'till my birthday?!".
With dynamic progress bars, track up to 10 people and automatically see who is celebrating next, their current age, and how many days remain. Designed for the TRMNL X adapted for OG variations.
Getting started
1. Choose how many birthdays to display.
2. Select how February 29 birthdays should be handled.
3. Enter a name and birthdate for each person.
4. Optionally add a public photo link.
5. Save and add the plugin to your playlist.
Photos
• Photos are optional. An initial appears when no photo is provided.
• Use a direct, public HTTPS image URL. Ends with .jpg or .png, for example.
• PostImages.org is free
• The image must load without a login or private access token.
• Square, centered portraits work best.
• Photos are displayed in grayscale.
Tip: Google Photos, iCloud, and Dropbox sharing pages are usually not direct image links.
Layouts
Full, portrait: up to 10 birthdays
Full, landscape: up to 5 birthdays
Half Horizontal: up to 3 birthdays
Half Vertical: up to 3 birthdays
Quadrant: 1 birthday
A small note shows how many configured names are hidden in each layout.
Good to know
• Birthdays are sorted automatically.
• Incomplete entries are ignored until both a name and birthdate are provided.
• Date calculations use your TRMNL account timezone.
Privacy
Names, birthdates, and photo links are saved with your TRMNL plugin settings. External image hosts may receive a request when a photo is rendered. Avoid private or tokenized photo links. How Old? is a birthday dashboard for keeping important birthdays visible at a glance.
Add up to 10 people with their names, birthdates, and optional photo links. Birthdays are sorted automatically, with each person’s current age, upcoming birthday, days remaining, and next age displayed clearly.
The plugin includes Full, Half Horizontal, Half Vertical, and Quadrant layouts, with special handling for birthdays happening today and layouts that adapt when only one person is configured. Optional photo links are displayed as grayscale circular avatars.
Choose how many birthdays to display during setup. The plugin uses your TRMNL account timezone for date calculations and supports a February 29 policy choice for leap-day birthdays.
